About Me
I am a clinical specialist, licensed in both Nova Scotia and Ontario. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient health care settings, providing care and treatment for youth and adults with various mental health related concerns. My experience also extends to homeless shelters and group homes.
I am comfortable and experienced in providing treatment in a variety of different areas. I have a specialized interest in eating disorders/disordered eating habits.
My education includes a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology, from St. Francis Xavier University. I continued my years of education by attending Dalhousie University, to earn my Bachelor of Social work. I earned a Master of Social Work graduate degree from Dalhousie University following this.
I am trained to provide treatment using the following models:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for non-underweight patients (CBT-T)
*Please be advised that a requirement for eating disorder treatment is access to a working scale.
I use a variety of approaches in my treatment, such as solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy and brief supportive therapy.
